First ponder, then dare to....

Dare to be Remarkable
Dare to be Courageous
Dare to Stand Out
Dare to be Vulnerable
Dare to change your Thinking
Dare to Dream
Dare to Speak Out
Dare to be Adventurous
Dare to be Spontaneous

Bravery and Adventure! That's the ticket! Don't sit and gather moss. Get up, get out, do what you dream of doing, and if it doesn't work, it doesn't work, and you don't need to make that particular mistake again, but at least you won't get old wondering what if you had.
Garrison Keillor

Courageous risks are life-giving, they help you grow, make you brave, and better than you think you are.
Joan L. Curcio

Being vulnerable frees you from the invisible chains that keep you stuck.
Adalia

I understand now that the vulnerability I’ve always felt is the greatest strength a person can have. You can’t experience life without feeling life. What I’ve learned is that being vulnerable to somebody you love is not a weakness, it’s a strength.
Elisabeth Shue

Don't live down to expectations. Go out there and do something remarkable.
Wendy Wasserstein

People become really quite remarkable when they start thinking that they can do things. When they believe in themselves they have the first secret of success.
Norman Vincent Peale

All growth is a leap in the dark, a spontaneous unpremeditated act without benefit of experience.
Henry Miller

Life is a series of natural and spontaneous changes. Don't resist them, that only creates sorrow. Let reality be reality. Let things flow naturally forward in whatever way they like.
Lao Tzu

Dreams are extremely important. You can't do it unless you imagine it.
George Lucas

Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world.
Harriet Tubman

Never forget that life can only be nobly inspired and rightly lived if you take it bravely and gallantly, as a splendid adventure in which you are setting out into an unknown country, to face many a danger, to meet many a joy, to find many a comrade, to win and lose many a battle.
 Annie Besant

It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life and in change there is power.
Alan Cohen

We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make our world

Mistakes - Another way we Grow

Sometimes when we make mistakes, it makes us feel like a failure. This never has to be the case, if you simply choose to view mistakes as a natural part of life, and another opportunity for us to learn and grow -- to get up and try again

We must not say every mistake is a foolish one
Cicero

It is always helpful to learn from your mistakes because then your mistakes seem worthwhile.
Garry Marshall

A mans mistakes are his portal to discovery.
James Joyce

Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.
 Mahatma Gandhi

I'm afraid that we all make mistakes. One of the things that defines our character is how we handle mistakes. If we lie about having made a mistake, then it can't be corrected and it festers. On the other hand, if we give up just because we made a mistake, even a big mistake, none of us would get far in life.
Terry Goodkind

We all make mistakes, have struggles, and even regret things in our past. But you are not your mistakes, you are not your struggles, and you are here NOW with the power to shape your day and your future.
Steve Maraboli

There are no mistakes in life, only lessons

Choosing Happiness Today

Each morning when I open my eyes I say to myself: I — not events — have the power to make me happy or unhappy today. I can choose which it shall be. Yesterday is dead, tomorrow hasn't arrived yet. I have just one day, today, and I'm going to be happy in it.
Groucho Marx

Love the moment. Flowers grow out of dark moments. Therefore, each moment is vital. It affects the whole. Life is a succession of such moments and to live each, is to succeed.
Corina Kent

Celebrate the happiness that friends are always giving, make every day a holiday and celebrate just living!
Amanda Bradley

No matter how much madder it may make you, get out of bed forcing a smile. You may not smile because you are cheerful; but if you will force yourself to smile, you'll end up laughing. You will be cheerful because you smile. Repeated experiments prove that when man assumes the facial expressions of a given mental mood ~ any given mood ~ then that mental mood itself will follow.
Kenneth Goode

Simply put, you believe that things or people make you unhappy, but this is not accurate. You make yourself unhappy.
Wayne Dyer

Happiness does not depend on outward things, but on the way we see them.
 Leo Tolstoy

Summer Margaritas

Cool off in the heat with these colorful drinks

via

The heat is definately turned up in my part of the world and staying cool is important. We forgot to cover the pool (again) last year, which of course only makes it that more stressful now that the time has come to clean it out and start it back up. (sighs)

As I was browsing the many wonderful and creative ideas that Pinterest offers, as uploaded by users, I came across such a vibrant and beautiful picture of yet another margarita recipe. Out of curiosity, I clicked and was surprised to see that this recipe allowed you to make these, hours, days, even weeks ahead of time. How convenient is that!

So I had to share
Having a pool party, BBQ, or just a fun friend night, these will surely impress your guests.

Of course you can choose your favorite flavor, or mix up a few different batches. Either way, these are a sure way to kick back, relax and cool off this summer.

Open your Eyes

Being happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means that you’ve decided to look beyond the imperfections.

See the beauty all around you

The wonder that keeps you curious

The passion that keeps you driven

The goals that keep you inspired

The love of a child that keeps you motivated

Family that keeps you grounded

Friends that make you smile

:)

The difference between a mountain and a molehill is your

perspective.

Al Neuharth

Exactly my thoughts :)
So many of our misfortunes, misery and every day downs and outs in life are based on how we construct the events in our minds. Most of the time, with a little patience
(okay, sometimes a lot [tehe] ) and a deep breath, we can regroup and figure out a constructive way to deal with our 'problems.'
I put problems in quotations because I view problems, as uncomfortable as they are, as opportunities to grow and learn from. So many times in my life, I have taken what life has thrown at me and exaggerated it or blew it up, causing myself great anxiety and fear, which often times paralyzed me from facing it head on.
(Hence, making a mountain out of a molehill)
What an overwhelming feeling of powerlessness. To be crippled by your own fear(s), thus hindering your progress forward. The stress in my life was manifested through the fact that I felt out of control every time something bad happened. Almost always viewing it as negative and pulling out my self pity card. (Woe is me syndrome). This way of life was clearly NOT working out for me. It was a toxic relationship and I was ready to break-up and move on. Ya know, as I'm typing this, I remember many times in my life that I felt this way, but the one way that helped me to break free from my own chains was one day as I dared to look deeply into my own eyes, I said to myself " I am sick and tired of being sick and tired" These words, uttered so vulnerably, became my biggest blessing!
I began to understand that life wasn't perfect and my own was far from it, but I embraced that. It was OK. There was something much bigger here and it wasn't an accumulation of my problems. It was little opportunities, presented to me, on a daily basis if need be, by life, that gave me the chance to grow, learn, transform. This is how I now decided to view mishaps in my life. I chose to react differently. It became clear to me that molehills were tiny enough for me to jump over and I was big enough to make that leap.

The point of my little story is this:
Life is sometimes hard, it can be tough but I want you to always remember that so are you! You are not your problems, you are the solution.

"Don't be pushed by your problems, be led by your dreams."

Embracing the moment of Now

Don't let the past steal your present.
Cherralea Morgen

Now is the only moment we have for sure. Breathe deeply, embrace change, flow with the positive vibes of your life and enjoy the journey

Do not look back on happiness or dream of it in the future. You are only sure of today; do not let yourself be cheated out of it.
Henry Ward Beecher

I have realized that the past and future are real illusions, that they exist in the present, which is what there is and all there is.
Alan Watts

Living in the moment means letting go of the past and not waiting for the future. It means living your life consciously, aware that each moment you breathe is a gift.
Oprah Winfrey

We seem to be going through a period of nostalgia, and everyone seems to think yesterday was better than today. I don't think it was, and I would advise you not to wait ten years before admitting today was great. If you're hung up on nostalgia, pretend today is yesterday and just go out and have one hell of a time.

Dog licks & tricks

An animal's eyes have the power to speak a great language.
Martin Buber

Meet Ruby(left) & Cali(right)

Ruby is a 2-1/2 month old Bull Mastiff and the newest member of our family. We have only had her about a month and she was the perfect match and new best friend for
Cali, our 4 month old Pit Bull. Of course, animals are jealous, just as siblings are and it took a day or so for Cali to welcome Ruby with open paws. tehe. As one can imagine, they keep me busy, and on my p's and q's.

Until one has loved an animal, a part of one's soul remains unawakened.
Anatole France
Animals bring so much joy into our lives, are great companions, our best friends and the beauty is they are faithful to their owners and send out unconditional love.

Any glimpse into the life of an animal quickens our own and makes it so much the larger and better in every way.
John Muir
A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than he loves himself.
Josh Billings

The little furry buggers are just deep, deep wells you throw all your emotions into.
Bruce Schimmel
Emotional healing is a most amazing gift that's bestowed by our furry friends ... The choice to nurture a pet in our life can bring huge returns on our investment.
Chelle Thompson

All animals except man know that the ultimate point of life is to enjoy it.

Be Encouraged

We all get in a rut sometimes and feel stuck. Reading inspirational stories and quotes is a great way to boost your spirits and can even be a mood changer.
Here are a few of my favorites I'd like to share with you....
