Tips to Frugal Living

In this day's economy, with the cost of living steady rising, finding ways to save is essential in every household. There are so many ways to save. One way to do this is to become mindful of the way we use products in our own homes. I have been found guilty of having a heavy hand when it comes to laundry detergent. I almost always would douse just an extra bit in the load. Now, I put exactly what is called for and have found that the bottle lasts so much longer. When we are seasoning foods, backing up on the amount we usually use can stretch the quantity as well as lead to a healthier way of eating. Another awesome method that I love is making your own household cleaners. Breathing in Pine-sol and bleach is not only harmful for our families, it is not a pleasant odor to smell in our homes. Making up a batch of homemade cleaner will be cost efficient and eco-friendly all at the same time. The cost of a single bottle of disinfectant can add up. Purchasing a spray bottle from your local dollar store is cheap and you can re-use the bottle each time you need to re-fill. Buying concentrated items can be cost efficient in the long run as well, as you are mixing the ingredients as the directions call for and this can stretch your product further. In closing, pinching pennies takes some practice and requires us to be conscious in almost all matters of life, but the end result can be a lifetime of savings and a healthier, more frugal lifestyle.
